Maternity Session – Maternity Photographer Gold Coast

Maternity photos are not just about a bump. Maternity photos are a way to celebrate the baby you are about to meet, to celebrate your partner and your family.

Being pregnant is such an amazing journey for a mum to be; capturing this moment in time is something that I love to do. I take pride in giving my clients natural, beautiful images that celebrate this wonderful journey.

Q: When is the best time to book our maternity session?
A:Ideally around 34-38 weeks will give us a big, beautiful, pronounced bump, however we are happy to take your photos at any stage throughout your pregnancy. Please contact us at least 4-6 weeks before your desired date to ensure availability and to discuss your session.

Q: How long will our session take, and where are they held?
A: We generally set aside 1 hour for our maternity sessions. Most of our maternity sessions are held in our Gold Coast home studio in Mudgeeraba. We also have a handful of beautiful locations that we are open to using for our maternity sessions {location shoots may incur a small travel fee}.

Q: When will we see our images?
A: We will give you a sneak peek of one image on the day of your session (usually via our facebook page), then the rest of your images will be ready to view within 1-2 weeks of your session. When your images are ready, we will email you with a link and password to your online gallery. The gallery will contain 20 images for you to view and will be open for viewing for 14 days.

Preparing for your maternity session
Choose an outfit you feel comfortable in (keeping in mind these are your professional portraits). If you would like have different looks/outfits, choose clothes that you can change in and out of easily, and that don’t leave any marks on your skin (like straps). Go for outfits that really show off your bump – empire dresses are great for this. I also have a small range of options for maternity sessions.

I  suggest having your hair and make-up how you like it (natural is nice).

If you are bringing your partner (or support person/mother/sister), aim to coordinate your outfits, but don’t necessarily match. We also suggest avoiding bold logos or anything that may be distracting in your images.

Lastly, drink plenty of water the day before your session so that your skin is well hydrated and looks it’s best. Also, try to rest well the night before your session so you feel fresh and look radiant in your photos.
